"Butterfly Days". A DVD Review
I have recently purchased a DVD which I feel will be interesting to our members. Sandy Harman, a 20 year-long member of BC, who subscribes to four southern branches, has been photographing butterflies and their habitats for many years. This interest has led to him producing this DVD, the proceeds of which will be put toward conservation in the purchaser's local area. 58 species of butterfly, many moths, dragonflies and wildflowers are shown on this 90-minute presentation. Mr Harman has filmed through the seasons from April until September at locations from the Isle of Wight to Scotland.

The DVD uses short voice-over and picture captions, set within an unobtrusive sound track, to aid identification of the images. The many close-ups will provide a "live" back up to all the books now available. As someone who concentrates on moths and has seen only about half of the 58 species of butterfly I find this DVD of great value. Even better value when I know that over £6.00 of my purchase price has gone back into Yorkshire Branch funds.

If you feel that this DVD would be an asset in your home, an £8.00 cheque payable to S. Harman, sent to 31 Upper Manor Road, Milford, Godalming, Surrey, GU8 5JW would secure your copy by return and also help Yorkshire Branch funding.
