A fair turnout for our branch open day at Pannal saw some inspiring talks from Sam Newton our branch ecologist about a year in his life balancing tree planting and conserving good quality grasslands and finding spare time monitoring, discovering and walking transects.
Celebrating this years winners of our outstanding Volunteer awards. Dave Ramsden VC64 County Recorder and Paul Millard, VC65 County recorder. Allan Rodda for being branch conservation officer for many years and transforming Fordon Chalk Banks into a marvelous reserve . We are extremely grateful for all three of you.

Founded in 1981, the Yorkshire Branch of Butterfly Conservation with eighteen members, the branch has grown steadily to over 1770 members today.
The Yorkshire Branch Open Day is an ideal opportunity to meet like-minded enthusiasts, to hear conservation updates from around the county and to enjoy listening to our guest speakers.
Tea and Coffee will be provided on the day.
There will also be a variety of stalls including a plant stall, and raffle and the annual photographic competition.
