A limestone grassland site  with dry scrub and thickets.

S1 From the village it follows the footpath northwards  up to Strans Wood  and then along the slopes. 

S4 On the slopes favours Small Heath and Meadow Browns 

S5 has a colony of Northern Brown Argus

S9  The route diverts from teh fottpath heads north to an old quarry site. damper grassland with Ringlet

S10 Retuns  following the beck and skirting the wood. 

S11 Enters Strans Wood.
