A mix of grassland, accounting for about half of the site, damp meadow and a pond with smaller areas of developing woodland & scrub. 

Good for a wide variety of flora and fauna including plant species such as Adder’s Tongue Fern, Common Spotted Orchid and Common Fleabane. Breeding birds include Tree pipit, Linnet, Willow Tit and Tawny Owl, and the pond attracts a good range of dragonflies and damselflies including Emporer Dragonfly. 

Contains a good colony of the threatened Small Heath Butterfly
