Butterfly Conservation Yorkshire assists in the management of this important privately owned site. 24 species of butterfly were recorded here in 2019 and the reappearance of the Duke of Burgundy makes this season's habitat management even more important. The site also hosted some of the highest counts of Dark Green Fritillary (more than 100 observed last year) along with Silver-washed Fritillary which has reappeared after a long absence. We will be carrying our scrub clearance to help to improve the habitat for the Duke of Burgundy.
